How to Instruct Dr Hassan

Please send an initial enquiry via the contact form with:

  • A brief summary of the case
  • Whether you act for the Claimant, the Defendant or jointly
  • The type of report required (screening, breach of duty, causation, condition & prognosis, etc.)
  • Any key dates, including limitations and court timetables

You will receive confirmation of availability, indicative fees and an estimated turnaround time.

Formal written instructions should clearly state:

  • Who is instructing (Appointor and Client)
  • The purpose of the report and the specific questions to be addressed
  • Whether an independent investigation is required, or the report is to be based solely on supplied documentation
  • Whether a draft report is required prior to the final version
  • Any need for expert meetings or joint statements
  • Any particular time constraints or hearing dates

Please supply:

  • Good quality copies of all relevant medical records (ED, inpatient, outpatient, GP and ambulance records)
  • Radiology reports and relevant imaging (or access details)
  • Serious incident reports, complaint correspondence or internal investigation reports, where relevant
  • Any prior expert reports or witness statements, if available

If consent is required for the disclosure of medical records, it should be confirmed or in progress at the time of instruction.

The instructing solicitor should:

  • Respond promptly to reasonable requests for clarification or further documentation
  • Notify Dr Hassan of any changes to timetables, hearings or settlement discussions
  • Keep him updated regarding case progress and outcome
