Dr Hassan’s clinical practice encompasses the whole spectrum of Emergency Medicine, across both adult and paediatric populations, with particular experience in major trauma and high-acuity emergency presentations.

Adult Emergency Medicine

Key areas of expertise include:

  • Major trauma and polytrauma assessment in a regional trauma centre
  • Road traffic collisions, falls from height, assaults
  • Limb fractures, dislocations and soft-tissue injuries
  • Missed fracture cases, including scaphoid and other occult fractures

  • Myocardial infarction and acute coronary syndromes
  • Pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis
  • Stroke and neurological emergencies
  • Appendicitis, acute abdomen and other surgical emergencies
  • Sepsis, pneumonia, urinary tract and other serious infections

  • Cauda equina syndrome and spinal red flags
  • Head injury, concussion and raised ICP risk assessment

  • Management of deliberate self-harm
